David Gibbs
Senior Associate
David has led, managed, and supported strategic initiatives designed to create healthier, more equitable and sustainable communities across the country. His work with innovative leaders includes numerous federal and national entities, such as The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, YMCA of the USA, National Recreation and Park Association, and the Well Being Trust. David serves as a strategist, coach, trainer, and facilitator. He brings expertise in leadership development, racial equity and healing, coalition development, implementation, and community engagement.
Prior to joining CI, David spent nine years working for two of the nation’s Top-25 Community Foundations – The Greater Milwaukee Foundation and The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta – serving as Program Officer, Senior Program Officer, and Director of Community Partnerships. David's early career centered around youth development -- working with African American males in grades three to twelve, developing academic, social and leadership skills through a project-based, experiential learning curriculum and following, serving as the Director for the YMCA’s urban mentoring and role-modeling program Black Achievers. He lives in Atlanta and loves spending time with his son and family.
